El Korah Melodrama 50th Anniversary
The El Korah Shriners have announced the performances and schedule for the 2013 Melodrama celebrating 50 years of entertainment magic in the Treasure Valley. The annual event takes place March 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17 at the El Korah Ballroom, 1118 W. Idaho St., in Boise. This year will showcase a double feature, buffet dinner before the show, and dessert at intermission. “For 50 years El Korah has been putting on this melodrama and we hope to do it for 50 more,” said Ron Lester, El Korah Potentate. “Events like the melodrama keep El Korah going so we can continue to do other philanthropic work like helping kids.” The double features include the performances of Alias Smedley Pewtree or The Villain of Glitter Gulch written by Tim Kelly and A Penny Saved or The Widow of Woodstock, Fully Loaded by Denise K. Buhr. All performances are produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc. of Englewood, Colo. All seats for the shows are reserved and must be purchased in advance. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. with curtains opening at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 or you can purchase a table seating eight for $90. For more information on the performances visit www.elkorah.com. To purchase tickets call (208) 841-6482.
