President’s Letter September 2015

Rhea“Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.” –Benjamin Franklin

Currently my theme in life seems to be revolving around the mentor; in finding a mentor and in being a mentor! Most recently, for the Wayne Brown Institute, I’m helping a company develop and perfect their pitch and pitch deck for potential investors.

Anyone with a start-up that is looking for advice or marketing consultation can come by the Trailhead on September 14th. My open office hours are from 3pm-5pm.

I also just started the b|wise program for BYP, and can’t wait to help develop and inspire the young professionals in my group. It’s going to be a great time and I know I’m going to learn as much from them as they will from me.

As for my mentors, I’ve been fortunate enough to be selected as part of the Street Wise Emerging Leaders 13 month program put on by the Small Business Administration. There were approximately 120 that applied for it but only 17 of us made the cut! I’m excited to be part of this hugely talented group of business individuals and love soaking up their collective wisdom.

Here at Peppershock we almost always have an intern or two gaining real hands on experience. Interns walk away having gained something of value, and in some cases a portfolio piece as well. If you or someone you know has experience in video production, graphic design or sales and marketing and are looking for an opportunity to learn contact us today.

Speaking of sharing Peppershock knowledge, we’ve partnered with the Nampa Chamber of Commerce to present the webinar “Video SEO: What You Don’t Know Could Hurt Your Website.” The webinar will be September 16th starting at 12:00pm so it’s the perfect lunch break learning session. I’ll be sharing my knowledge of getting the most out of your online videos. If you don’t have videos, you’ll find out why you should. For more info and to register visit our events page.

In more news, I’m also honored to judge film submissions for several categories in the Boise Film Festival, which is taking over downtown Boise September 25-27th. For film festival details visit http://boisefilmfestival.org/

And lastly, how could I ever forget, school has officially begun and that means new routines for all of us. We love that fall is coming! It’s our favorite time of year, especially October. This Shocktoberfest we’ll be celebrating 12 years in business. So to mark the occasion we’ve planned a half day marketing and business success workshop that will be held here at Peppershock and then immediately following the workshop we’ll transition into Shocktoberfest, our after-hours, anniversary, client and business community appreciation party. So save the date October 29th from 1:30pm -4:30pm for the workshop and then Shocktoberfest from 4:30pm until the lights go out and start preparing your costume now!  As always we’ll have prizes for the best costume and spooky fun brews, eats and treats!

If you or someone you know could benefit by hiring Peppershock to be your marketing department or if you need a video produced or a print piece designed, or your content marketing managed, let us help you!  To get a quote to get our relationship started, go here: https://oldsite.stagingserverhosting.com/contact-landing/ or call us 208-461-5070.  We are thrilled to share our marketing and creative production knowledge and experience to help your business grow!  How can we earn your business, if not already?
