President’s Letter | March 2018

Happy March Peppershock Peeps!

February was a roller coaster of ups and downs. Even though I wasn’t competing in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics this year, I did create my own competitive event called “Stair Tumbling.” The idea is to land on two feet and unfortunately, I didn’t make it on the podium and sprained my ankle instead. Once my ankle is healed, I will make another attempt at the gold medal and conquer!

Something I look forward to every week is working out at the Rec Center. Implementing exercising more at the Rec Center has been apart of my 2017 weekly routine.

I shared some more memories with my kids (#AllenBros). This month, we went to see Black Panther. It may not have been my first choice, but it was still good and I’m grateful to spend time with them. Kaden also won an Outstanding Artist Award at school!

Wearing Red at Funch

The crew gathered together on February 2nd for Funch at Messenger Pizza. We wore red in support of Heart Disease Awareness! Did you know that Heart Disease is the number one killer of women? We also wanted to show our support to the Jayden DeLuca Foundation. We were joined by two high school job shadows, Tommy and Jessica. What’s better than taking a picture with the Peppershock Crew in the heart of Downtown Nampa?

Investor’s Choice

While I was in Utah, I got to see a lot of great companies pitching and presenting at the Investor’s Choice Conference. I’m happy to get to mentor some of these companies and I’m always excited to see some get funded along their entrepreneurial journey. This conference was inspiring and I love working with fortune none to fortune 100 companies!

An Unexpected Feeling of Love and Heartache

I flew back to Idaho from Utah on February 10th. Unexpectedly, I got to experience two feelings at once: love and heartache. Sometimes my faith in humanity is restored. People stood on the plane to salute a fallen soldier. Even though my flight was delayed, I didn’t hear anyone complain. I don’t know the details behind this loss, but I sincerely want to thank those who serve our country. I also wanted to say thanks to Delta Airlines for going the extra mile to ensure the safe delivery of this soldier.

Jayden DeLuca Foundation Masquerade Ball

They say that February is the month of love and I definitely felt the love at the Jayden DeLuca Foundation Masquerade Ball. We are so glad to be apart of these organizations that bring awareness to the community. The Jayden DeLuca Foundation is an organization dedicated to helping children and families who are fighting cardiac disease. It also offers support and encouragement to those affected by Pediatric Heart Conditions.

Rollerdrome and PreFunk with the Peppershockers

The crew went to the Nampa Roller Drome in celebration of Natalie’s birthday and Sierra’s Workversary! Even though I wasn’t able to skate due to my ankle, I still had fun watching everyone skate. We requested many songs, including “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gainer. There were lots of dancing in skates and loud singing around the rink. Afterwards, we hit up PreFunk for some drinks and good conversations.

59th Annual Winter Clinics in McCall, Idaho

I had the amazing opportunity of being the keynote speaker for the Ada County Medical Society 59th Annual Winter Clinics in McCall. The theme was “Idaho in Pictures,” complete with a red carpet and a 24-hour film contest. I would like to take this moment to thank Drew for driving through the “Snowpocalypse.” He also ran the A/V for the event. We brought the kids and had a weekend full of family fun!
