Let freedom and summer rule!
A message from Rhea Allen
The seasons they are a-changin’ like they always do, so what’s next? There’s plenty to love about summer, and plenty to love about fall that you may or may not have forgotten! Our lives and seasons go through it, and our businesses do too. Sometimes it’s a little too hot to handle, and then again, sometimes it’s just a little too cold.
Has your business been running hot this summer? Too much to do, not enough time (or people!) to do it, and the price of EVERYTHING continues to go up, so what CAN you do? Summer doesn’t last forever, and there’s a very good reason for that; nature needs a break. Trees need to sleep, the ground needs to freeze, and the snowpack needs to re-pack itself. So do you, and so does your business!
With all the hustle and bustle of summer, now’s about time for things to cool off. That means working ON, your business, instead of just working in your business. The right timing and season to do this all depends on the type of business you are in, but this is how we do it at Peppershock!
Every summer, come rain or shine or sleet or hail (sometimes literally!) as you know we get together as a team and as a family to work on Peppershock. This year was no different, and I can’t stress enough just how important it is for us as a company! Take that break, cool things off a little, and take the time to embrace the changes, the lulls, the highs, and the lows.
Reflect on where you have been, what you have accomplished, what’s worked, what hasn’t worked, and what you can work on. No one can pour from an empty cup, so embrace the equinox and the flipping of the calendar and let it recharge you and your crew.
Need tips or ideas on how you can take advantage of the highs and lows of your business and time your replenishing and growth cycles right? It’s one of the loves of my life, and I can’t wait to keep exploring more stages and platforms to share with all of you (check out everything that’s happening in the next few months by reading on!).
Change and the seasons of life can be stressful, and then it can be a blessing, and then it can feel like a curse. But one thing is for sure, it’s always going to happen. School starting again this fall reminded me of that just as soon I realized that this was going to be our oldest son’s LAST year of high school!
And then get this! My BABY started his FIRST year of high school….so how is a mom supposed to feel about that? Grateful? Yes. Blessed? Absolutely. Blinking my eyes and wondering where the time went? YES!
Every moment, every hectic morning, every ride to practice and back has been the ride of our lives, and as with everything else in life and love and business, I can’t wait to see what’s next.
