We already know this summer is going to be different, but how are you going to make it better?

This month we are going to officially be welcoming summer into our lives, homes, and routines. While summer 2021 doesn’t officially begin until June 20th, the red-hot days and activities have already started!
So I have a question for you: are you still holding on to 2020 limitations and expectations?
I’m not just talking about city pools and movie theatres being open. Things are changing, or they already have. Many are embracing humanity again (literally!). Events are happening. Stores are busy, and the streets are too. We’re enjoying spending more time as a team in the office together, and more face-to-face meetings with our clients, colleagues, and more. It still feels a little weird to walk into a room filled with people, but hugging and laughing face to face is a treat that I will NEVER take for granted again!
Yes, there will be an adjustment period, but business is booming, and that means it’s time to move away from scarcity, fear, and feeling shut down. Whether it’s letting your customers know that you’re open, recruiting new talent, or letting the world know about your business for the first time, the time is now!
Summer 2021 is already different from summer 2020, but how are you going to purposefully make it better?
- Intentionally decide to keep the good habits and discoveries you learned in the last year, and carry them forward.
- Be willing to get out of your comfort zone again, and back into the swing of things!
- Decide to purposefully grow your business, attract more talent or get the news out.
These are just a few of the things my family and I will be doing this summer as we continue to work hard and play hard, I hope that you and yours can do the same!

Carrie Severson is the CEO of The Unapologetic Voice House, an independent publishing agency. She has been in the storytelling space for more than 20 years. After being published by an independent publisher, she spent five years pitching literary agents in the hopes of being published traditionally. She desperately wanted that traditional publishing deal. After 100 rejections from literary agents, she launched the company that could help women just like her – unapologetic in their story and looking for support. Now, she has the opportunity to walk the journey of developmental editing, publishing, and mentoring aspiring female authors throughout the world. After spending two decades in the storytelling world, she knows how to get a great book out into the marketplace.
Marko Filipovic is a young entrepreneur and the CEO of GoldenGateGrowth. He started his first agency in June of 2020 and has since scaled it to 7 figures. Marko specializes in helping people build automated systems so that they can run their agency on autopilot while bringing in infinite leads and having that 4 hour work week everyone dreams about.
