Peppershock Professional Vidcasting & Podcasting

By February 13, 2006blog, Peppermaster
  1. Have a podcasting plan – let’s not do it just because it’s cool to do, let’s do it for a valid reason. Let’s make sure it’s relevant, timely and is pertinent information that is useful to your targeted audience.
  2. Provide value – give em’ one good reason to take the time to listen or watch… what is your extremely compelling reason? Will this take up too much time or is it worth something? Keep it short for the instant gratification generation. Attention span is becoming shorter and shorter, give them what they need and then leave them wanting more.
  3. Keep in mind we will be “Nanocasting” rather than “Broadcasting” the purpose will be for a narrowly selected target audience rather than a broad mass market. This is not your traditional advertising medium. Make sure your target audience is well defined and that we aim to please only their fancy, not everyone else and their mother’s brother.
  4. Vidcasting & Podcasting, making the commitment to succeed takes time, planning on the front end. Doing a podcast is one thing, but you must plan and promote it heavily in order to make it work. You must commit to doing this and understand it takes time to build a following. You must continue to provide content that people find valuable.
  5. Talent and expertise – very important, true anyone can spout out into a microphone and record it, but who will listen if its garbage, who will watch if it’s recorded by a cheap handycam recording pixilated, incorrectly rendered & posted video? Cutting through the crap will define legends in this new media marketing. Technology provides everyone with a soapbox, but getting people to listen and watch does require professional talent and expertise. Professionalism will prosper; cheap “do-it-yourself” mechanisms will soon falter in the new technology ridden way of life. It would be the equivalent to building web-based home movies on VHS that you and maybe your family would be interested in watching or listening to once every five years on a special holiday occasion, if you’re lucky! Either get it done professionally or just don’t do it! Ask yourself, would you rather be considered an “A” list movie or a “B” rated movie?

So with all that said are you interested in professionally vidcasting or podcasting?
Let me know & I’d be delighted to offer a one-hour free consult to you or someone you know that would benefit greatly from our professional media production services.
